After the Comic....
Working at my dad’s restaurant, Sam’s BBQ, gave us plenty of hilarious moments. The “hind feet” question became a running joke around the shop. Whenever customers ordered pig feet, we would sometimes ask, “Do you want the hind feet?” If they caught the joke, everybody had a good laugh.
But all these years later—just yesterday, in fact—I finally looked it up. As it turns out, a pig’s back feet can actually be larger and meatier than the front ones!
So I guess the joke was on us all along. That old DUDE knew exactly what he was talking about when he ordered the hind feet—and apparently, he got the last laugh!
You know, it just goes to show you: sometimes the funniest person in the room is the one who knows something everybody else doesn’t.
