After the Comic
Well, folks, I thought a chocolate-gold necklace was a smart investment. Then Mr. T sampled my retirement plan, and Arnold finished off my life savings! Next time, I’m putting my money somewhere safer—like a cookie jar with a padlock.
Before we watch, here are a few things you might not know about these two familiar faces:
Mr. T was born Laurence Tureaud in Chicago, the youngest of twelve children. Before Hollywood, he served in the Army and worked as a bodyguard. That tough-guy act had some real experience behind it!
Gary Coleman nearly became a Little Rascal! He was considered for a revival that never got off the ground before landing his famous role as Arnold Jackson on Diff’rent Strokes.
Gary even had his own cartoon. The Gary Coleman Show featured an apprentice angel helping people on Earth. Imagine Arnold with wings—and something to say about every assignment!
Mr. T’s visit opened the show’s sixth season, in an episode called “Mr. T and mr. t.” Put those two personalities together, and somebody’s bound to steal the scene!
Now settle in for this funny Diff’rent Strokes clip with Arnold and Mr. T. Keep an eye on Arnold—and if you’re wearing chocolate jewelry, keep an eye on that, too!
